To the fishing God, O Jisan

Statue and offerings to O Jisan to keep a watchful eye on the anglers below on the precipitous cliffs.
This statue is near Halona Cove and the Blowhole. Sandy Beach can be seen in the background.
Several of these statues can be found around the island especially in the dangerous areas where fishermen have lost their lives.
The original statuary had it's head broken off during the second World War. To prevent a repeat this statuary has O Jisan carved into the sides of the rock.
