when this aircraft was with 187 city of Worcester Squadron ATC i was one of the cadets that used to sit in it and start up its Griffon engine. Its fantastic to see it restored to its original art work. When we had it it was silver all over as I recall, presumeably Aluminum finish. I can recall the thunderus raw even now when we wound finally get it going after a lot of cadgolling. We could never run it up to full revs because it would have jumped the chocks and ended up in the main billet hall!! We also had to have someone sitting on the tail to stop it lifting under the prop slip stream. They would have been blown off! I was 13 and a half then. Can you imagine a 13 and half lad now being allowed to start up such a machine!! The sefety bods would have a heart atteck!! Regards, Steve Whyatt ( Now 54 and a flying instructor at RAF Brize Norton)
