I remember that square from the days before the transformed it into "The Red Square" To me that change was disastrous, as the green grass was much more pleasing and being there around Easter when flowers were blooming was a sheer pleasure. I was told that this change from grass to artificial red surface was done as the grass could no longer cope with increasing pedestrian traffic and partying activities.
It's a nice spot that used to be much more inviting - after the transformation I did not see any reason to stop there to enjoy a relaxing moment.
