Our car and Nell in 1979

I am throwing out our old slides.
I have spent the day scanning in a few memorable ones.

I have no idea what it is that Nell(aged 3) has on her head!

£5.00 Camera bought in Aden in 1965

other sizes: small medium original auto

I'm glad you have changed your mind Chris. Scan your most precious ones onto DVD, and ensure that the slides are kept in a good dry place (not in the loft), perhaps earmarking them to a keen and trusted relative in due course.
"F" registrations were issued between August 1967 and July 1968.

Throwing out the slides? This makes me sad!. Cute photo.

Be careful. CDs and DVDs are not going to last forever. The chemical layer is said to be only good for about 12-30 years. Thats a wide margin of "when will it die". The the images you have stored on them will just rot away. So I would keep the physical slide and not rely on the "digital backup/storeage".

My grandfathers slides are the subject of MUCH debate in my family.

Don't throw them out..think of Nell. She will enjoy showing them to her grandchildren some day.

This was our second ex London cab. I rebuilt the 2.2 Litre diesel engine on a table in the workshop. If I remember correctly the F registration makes it 1969 when new.
It was good as a family car and we had a small open trailer which we used for our camping gear.
The problem was it was very slow and not reliable as everything apart from the engine was worn out.
The brakes sometimes seized on.

You have talked me into keeping the slides.

You're throwing them out!!? Get a grip! Chris they're an excellent and long-lasting medium. Scan them to share and store them, cool and dry.

I love the car. Is it a converted cab? It makes the photo look much older than 1979. More like 1962.
