The Magic Roundabout

This roundabout at Hemel Hempstead has been known as “The Magic Roundabout” after a children’s TV programme.
It was quite famous when it was changed from the being the normal sort to having the six mini roundabouts around it’s circumference in (I guess) the 70s.
The sign is across the road fron the garage where I bought my new car.

What a wonderful roundabout it is too, Chris! It's just a pity most people don't know how to use it... or can't be bothered getting in the right lane!!!

Why it is still called the Plough roundabout is beyond me... I called it that to someone once and they didn't have a clue where I was talking about, until I said "you know, the MAGIC roundabout!" Oh, Why didn't you say so...?!

We just drove through the UK in our rented car. Being Canadians it took some getting used to being in the wrong side of the road and the wrong side of the car. Round-abouts (which we don't have much in North America) are wonderful but take some getting used to. I don't know quite what we'd have done if we encounted this sign. I think maybe turned the rental car in and taken the bus ! :o)
