20th May 2004

Our Friends in the North

As you will have heard from John, Adrienne and I went to pay John and Jayne a visit.
We all arrived at the house at about the same time.
We had a wonderful welcome with lots of jumping up and down and tearing round and round!!
Badger got quite excited as well………….until John spoke to him!!
A quick introductory chat over a cup of tea, and before we knew it “Tea” was ready.
A very tasty chicken casserole and vegetables followed by wonderful cheesecake or (or in my case “and”) fruit filled brandy snap baskets and cream.
I can’t remember whether it was raspberries or fruits of the forest but it was all jolly good.
(I can’t ask Adrienne as she is in bed with a migraine poor old thing.)
We chatted about photography including John’s excellent bird prints that are framed on the kitchen wall, and spoke about some of you lot.
I bet your ears were burning.
Then we had a stroll around part of the farm.
How strange to see places that gave me the feeling I had been there before as I partly recognised them from John’s photographs.
All too soon it was time to leave them and make our way back to the farm where we were staying.

Thank you John, Jayne and Tom for a most enjoyable time.

Familiar faces and places in a land I've never visited. Glad you all had a good time. It was weird seeing Lara's place and recognizing PotDs all around her apartment. It put everything into a larger context.

Chris - it was a pleasure to meet you both and when ever you're up our way then do call by ... goes for anyone that too! Like the photo Chris but sorry about the rain! No matter as we had a good time? Good to see you got home safely and hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday. Hope 'she who must be obeyed' feels better tomorrow - give her our love? Chris I'll check round the rest of your photos tomorrow as it's my/our bedtime here! All the best to you mate and look forward to the rest. Should the Brookers be in your area then invite them round as they are genuine, warm, friendly people! Love ~~ John & Jayne x

It is so nice to see you back Chris..but even better to awaken to an image of some of my favorite people. This photograph is so warm...as I am walking up the pathway/drive and there they stand waiting to greet.
