New Hudson

On the way back from seeing May this afternoon I popped up to Hyde Mill to see what photos I might take.
I found a heap of old bicycles rusting away.

It transpires that in the 1950s the New Hudson Works were absorbed into BSA, a well known bicycle and motorcycle manufacturer.
BSA = Birmingham Small Arms.

A group of gunsmiths came together in 1851 and continued making firearms through the first and second world wars.

By 1951 they were the largest manufactures of motorcycles in the world.
