16th April 2004

All Revealed.

I received a request from Jill for more information on the fruit in yesterday’s photo (also shown on the 13th.).
Thank you all for your interest.

Passion Fruit (South Africa)
Tamarind (Thailand)
Rambutan (Thailand)

They came as a “Seasonal Exotic Fruit Variety Pack” from Sainsbury’s supermarket.
I bought it just to photograph.

The passion fruit smells wonderful.
We will have a nibble when Adrienne comes home from work.

The plate came into my father’s family when they lived at their home in Ballater Scotland.
It came from the Royal Household at Balmoral Castle close by.

I must apologise for the delay in getting round some of your galleries. I will do so as soon as I can.

I always wondered what those looked like.

Looks great to me! Initially I thought that there was a chocolate eclair invading the plate!

Chris - from the thumb I thought it was shell fish ... which I hate - I would starve to death b4 I touched it! But it's not, it's some weird and interesting fruits!

Guess I will have to have the wife go to Sainsbury.

Yumi. I have not tried the tamarind, but the other 2 ... YES. Now is the season for rambutan .. I just bought some from the supermarket this evening. As for passion fruit, they used it to make ice kachang in Taiwan.

We will try it when Adrienne gets home.

Appears sweet. Did you try it?
