Childwick Bury

This is the house near Harpenden where Stanley Kubrick lived and is buried.

He used some of us firemen as security when he was filming at Borehamwood.
I did a couple of nights guarding the maze used in The Shining.
That was a spooky place to be when you were on your own.

He was a nice chap and used to sent a case of whisky to the fire station every Christmas.

What a mansion, great job to capture it in a mystic way.

So that's where they filmed that maze scene. What a spooky film, that was. Nice shot of the mansion. Wouldn't it be neat if you could shoot it on a moonlit, foggy night?

Thanks for the interesting insight there, Chris. Looks like you were up and around earlier when the sun was at its best!
