19-FEB-2004 Chris Brooker

19th February 2004

Bollards to Canary Wharf

I walked on the south side of the Thames today, opposite where I was last week.
There is much dereliction but still signs of industry.
As I took photos of flotsam and rusting metal I thought of Patrick and asked myself how he would approach each image.
I don't pretend to have achieved his success.
Thank you Patrick.

23rd Feb. I have found out about the Channel Mixer so have replaced the image with one that is 60% Red Channel 40% Blue. It certainly brings out the sky.

Olympus E-20N

Excellent image Chris - I really like how yu use the foreground, and the B&W does enhance the motiv.

Chris, this is superb. I like the desaturation - helps to add to an industrial feel. I like the angle you chose to take it, too.
I bet you didn't get a cab driver to take you south of the river?!!

Chris I like this - the interest in the foreground that does it for me.

Really beautiful and made Jayne's day (she's off work with a bad cold currently) It was really no trouble to help with the software prob you know?? Any time I really don't mind! But thxs to you both for such a kind gift - you're a true gentleman :)) All the best ~ John & Jayne

I KNOW what it is that I feel is missing!!! There's a touch of color to Patrick's skies . .just a hint. I'll bet THAT would be cool here. Is your original in color? Can you desaturate a bit & bring up the hue or something?? Would love to see what that would do here! =D

At first I thought there was a submarine in the foreground (I said I was blind .. . .=P
But now I catch on . . .I like the feel of this. I was wondering what "burning in" the clouds a bit more might have produced. Nice composition. =)

I love the way you composed this. Very nicely done! Yet another person trying to capture the "Tiffany Finish" we all admire!
