4th October 2003

We had a wonderful visit to Wells Cathedral. Our early arrival meant that to start with we had the place to ourselves. I am sorry to say that many of the photos of that morning are blurred. Either me or the AF??

This is the North Aisle as seen from the North Transept.

W - O - W ! ! ! ! What an AWESOME image this is! The exposure is perfect - lovely detail evident everywhere. Great reflection on the smooth stone floor, with a hint of that gorgeous stained glass window at the end of the corridor. Great capture, Chris!

Thank you.
The photo was taken with an aperture f2 but the focal length is very short at 10mm.
My lens is 9-36mm. It is said that this equates to 35-140mm in 35mm terms, but that is only about the zoom. 10mm is still 10mm and therfore very short.

If I want to throw the background out, I have to get in close and zoom in. The wide DOF is one of the characteristics of my camera.

Outstanding Chris ... great perspective and wonderful glow on the ceiling. Nice framing with that first arch. How ever did you get such excellent dof?
