Chris - I wish I had something meaningful to contribute to your question, but I'm afraid I'm clueless. Paul would be able to give you some great suggestions, as he does a LOT of studio work. Another suggestion would be to post your picture and question to Photosig . Please keep us abreast of what you learn, because winter is coming and, consequently, my turn in the studio is right around the corner! LOL

Lovely photo, BTW. My only negatives (which undoubtedly prompted your questions) would be the deep shadows on the right - and the bright, reflected spots on the left.

Actually, it occurs to me that maybe using a lower wattage lamp with a diffuser and some type of bounce flash or strobe would work.

Have you thought about using a sheet of white coreboard as a reflector on the shadow side of the lamp instead of using two lamps? That should soften the shadow without losing the depth of the image. I'm not sure what to do about the reflections on the left side. Maybe someone who has done some studio work would know.
