gallery: House for an Art Lover

In 1901 a German magazine held a competition for the design of a "grand house in a thoroughly modern style".
Charles Rennie Mackintosh's entry of "The House for an Art Lover" was late and he was disqualified.
He was however awarded a special prize for his beautiful design.
It was decided that the house should be built and in 1989 construction was started in Bellahouston Park.
The house was opened in 1996.
