1957 Oldsmobile

CUBA

We were lucky enough to have such a beauty to tour with. Osvaldo our driver kept it immaculate, but some small things were just not available. the handles to roll the windows down in the back seat were gone. That being said, this 57 Oldsmobile had a Nissan motor. Along with having his degree in Economics, Osvaldo was brought up learning mechanics by his father. They custom fit the Nissan motor into this car. Apparently great gas mileage, and it seemed to cruise without effort at the limit of 100kpm.

I took many photos of the car, but none too exciting. Dan, where were you? :)

Super shot Carol.I am amazed at the pristine body conditions of these 50's era cars considering all the sea salt that must be in the air.Just finished watching a special on Cuba. After watching that and viewing this excellent gallery I really want to go see it!V

I was back here in Colorado, being envious and wishing I was there. And Jane is right - I do think you did a fabulous job photographing it. I think I would get an even bigger thrill seeing the way they adapted the engine and drive train. That takes a lot of work and ingenuity. ~BV~

I'm sure Dan would think this shot was a beauty. Looks great in black and white and I like how the wires are included. Very often we all make sure there are no wires in our photos. These wires seem to enhance the photograph. V

Looks to be in great shape. Nice in b&W and I like inclusion of the wires, pole and tree. "V"
