This is great Rob, sandhills are so difficult to photograph in flight because you have to find them first, then they are too far away and flying too high!

Hi Rob
Great images, I am a recent entrant into the world of photography to be precise its been a year. Last year I bought Olympus E-3 with 14-42 and a 70-300 lenses, I know these are not great lenses but I was not left with any more money to get the fancy 300mm etc. I keep parrots and hence I got involved in bird photography. I live in Pakistan and this time of the year a million birds migrate here from Russia and Europe. I am doing a lot of shooting but I am not getting the birds in flight shots pin sharp. I am not sure if I am using the right focus mode. Currently I am using single point focus in the simple AF mode. But all my pictures are blur even at 1/4000s. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. So I started reading and I found out that I am supposed to shoot in AFC mode with a lock on and should use multiple focus points in that case the camera will track the subject. I am getting so frustrated that I am thinking of getting a Nikon which I assume has a tracking mode. But then today I saw your pictures and thought of writing to you. I know you are using the great 300mm which I cannot afford but I assume that if I do it right I can also get decent images from 70-300 lens.
If I get your email address I can send you a few pictures for your review and guidance.
