Twin White-Tailed Deer Fawns

Richboro, PA

I have observed these twin fawns twice in the last week.
They appear to be orphaned. The mother doe has never appeared.
White spots on the fawns help camouflage young fawns from predators.
In 3 to 4 months the white spots will begin to fade as they grow their winter coat.
Without complete training from the mother, threat from predators and mostly automobiles make their future doubtful.

A wonderful capture of this very young pair. I hope they are able to survive. Love the pose and composition. VV

Beautiful animals but they look so vulnerable.

So sad to hear that mom is longer there … I'd try to leave them so food, grains etc.
Great shot
