Fonthill Castle built 1908 - 1912
Designed and built by Henry Chapman Mercer born 6/24/1856, he lived here until his death on 3/9/1930.
Built almost entirely of concrete including: roofs, walls, floors, window frames, bookshelves, fireplaces and mantles.
Includes 44 rooms, 32 stairwells, 18 fireplaces and 21 chimneys.
Mentioned in Concrete Age Magazine, 5/11/1911, as one of the first residences built of concrete.
