Fire Control Tower #23

Cape May, NJ

This Fire Control Tower was used during WWII to detect and locate enemy vessels near the entrance to Delaware Bay. Using aiming coordinates from the fire control towers, located enemy vessels could be fired upon from Fort Miles located at Lewes Delaware.

Beautiful image, Clarence. I passed by this tower several times last September and never seemed to have the time to stop and explore. I now see the wonderful photo op that I missed. V.
