The Bald Eagles of Core Creek

Core Creek Park - Middletown Twp., PA

There back! My nemesis the eagles of Core Creek. For the past three years I have tried to get good pictures of these two, but they have always eluded me. This picture was taken as close as anyone is allowed to the nest, which is near their perch, and is about a 1/5 of a mile or 350 yard away. This picture is a good example of what the new Tamron 18-270 PZD can do. It was taken on a tripod with a remote using manual focus. While taking this picture a third eagle flew past. They are not sitting on the nest yet as soon as the female lays her eggs their long chore of hatching and rearing their young will begin. And so my quest continues into a 4th year.

Just saw the pair this morning sitting in the tree by their nest. What a beautiful sight with the snow coming down!
