Huang Shan (Yellow Mountains), is located in An Hui province, about 8 hour train ride from Shanghai - but that was back in 1996 when I visited it. It was raining and very foggy, on the day I spent on the mountain top, the visibility was about 5 feet. Still, in the very short time when fog was cleared, I got a peek of the scenery that was so famous, and it was incredible. I think this is the most beautiful place in China, and the landscape is uniquely and unmistakenly Chinese, just like a Chinese painting. I took some pictures with my 35mm point-and-shoot in the rain, and I'm putting one here as a souvenior.
