It is hard to find any color in the gray and drab Hutongs of Beijing. The color of this watermelon really jumped out at me when I came upon it in one of these alleyways. The Chinese people did not seem to eat much in the way of sweets. Cold drinks were also very hard to find there.

Watermelon seemed to be the one summer treat that I saw Chinese people enjoying in the heat. Sweet and hydrating... a nice combo.
