Mt. Whitney hike July 2004

These pictures are from a hike I did between June 30, 2004 and July 2, 2004 with my wife Jan, her brother Jay Marianowits and his partner Shari Keller. Mt. Whitney, at 14,497', is the highest mountain in the Continental United States. The trail is eleven miles each way with just over 6,100' of elevation gain. We camped at Trail Camp (12,000' and 6.3 miles in from the trail head) for two nights; the night before we summitted and the night after.
