We spent two nights at Gokyo Village (15,584') to acclimate to the elevation, and to take a much-needed rest as we had hiked over the prior seven days from about 9,000' at Lukla Airport. Three of our group of seven summited Gokyo Ri at 17,575', but Jan and I were not among that group. This picture was taken looking down from about 16,500' on the side of Gokyo Ri.
