Here are a few selected shots from a solo motorcycle trip I took in July/August 2014, from Seattle, WA to Anchorage and Fairbanks AK, and back to Seattle. The trip was just over 6,000 miles following a route north through western British Columbia to Dawson Creek, B.C. and then up the Alaska Highway. At Tok I took the Slana Cutoff and Glenn highways to Anchorage. After a few days visiting friends and relatives in Anchorage, I rode north over Hatcher Pass and the Parks Highway to Fairbanks, where I spent a few days as well. The return trip followed the Alaska Highway south to Watson Lake, Yukon via Haines and Skagway, AK and then down the Cassiar Highway and east across BC Route 16 to Prince George, BC. From there I retraced my route south and home to the Seattle area.
I travelled this road in 1977. Back then, much of the road from BC into Alaska was unpaved. Very rough road that tore the van to shreds by the time we were done.
