El Hierro

ist mit etwa 278qm und 10 000 Einwohnern die kleinste Insel des Kanarischen Archipels,
das im Atlantik auf der Höhe der grossen Afrikanischen Wüste Sahara liegt.
El Hierro ist grün, unverdorben, hat viel Urwald und ist Biospären-Reservat.
Der 0-Meridian war früher auf El Hierro. Die Insel ist der süd-westlichste Punkt Europas.

El Hierro

is the smallest Canary Island, volcanic, about 278 square km with only 10 000 inhabitants,
the endmost southwesterly point of Europe, the former 0-meridian.
Situated in the Atlantic Ocean near the big Sahara desert,
400km before the African coast. Biosphere reservation.

Wunderbare Bilder, wunderbares El Hierro. Am Wochenende waren wir auf einer Hochzeit und auf die Frage nach der schönsten Kanareninsel konnte ich nur aus vollem Herzen El Hierro sagen. Unverständnis bei den Gesprächspartnern; "da gibt es doch gar keine Strände, keine RIU-Hotels, ... Eben!!!

Wonderful photos! I've always wanted to visit the Canary Islands, and perhaps someday I will. I've never seen pics of this particular island, though. Thanks for sharing!
