Zhangjiajie National Park

The Zhangjiajie National Park is located in the Hunan province of south-central China, covering about 50 square miles. Itis known as the first national forest park in China and recognized as the highlight of the gorgeous Wulingyuan Scenic Area. Originally the park was a state-run tree farm, which was founded in 1958, and then officially approved to be a national forest park in 1982.
Under the influence of a subtropical weather, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park has a unique “microclimate of the forest”– cool in the summer and warm in the winter time. It is home to abundant floras and faunas, suchas civet cats, giant salamanders, satyr tragopans, dove trees, maidenhair trees, Chinese yews, and Chinese tulip trees. Such a dense forest serves as a huge natural “oxygen bar.” The park is also like a museum that shows the pristine ethnic culture of the region.
