Dappled Spring

Newton, PA

For many years the image you see here has been in my head. But I have never been able to capture it due to the need to capture it in panorama form. Since moving over to digital last summer (2006), I hoped that I might get a chance to capture the new growth of Wild Phlox (Dame's Rocket) in this grove with an abandoned farmhouse this Spring. The Phlox usually carpets the area completely... but unfortunately... not this year. Time of day is late afternoon, with hot hazy light. Whiel the iamge is small here and detail unable to be seen, I hope you can see the mertit in attempting a panorama under certain circumstances.

This image is a composite of 17 seperate images, in 2 rows, stitched into one panorama. The original is much more impressive to see but the size 13000x5000 pixels makes it a little too large to show here.
