This is the culmination of the Mewar (Gangaur) Festival which is celebrated to welcome the advent of spring in Rajasthan. Ladies from surrounding villages as well as locals of Udaipur dress up to carry the images Isar and Gangaur (the dolls they carried on their heads in earlier pics) through the streets of Udaipur. The procession winds its way to the bank of Lake Pichola. Here, they sit for a couple of hours while tourists snap away to their heart's content.
