Carl sent me this arhived photo of us down in the Santa Barbara area.

This was an epic trip. Dec of 1985? I think so.

Carl said it was going to be nice and warm down in Santa Barbara. So we drove the celica down and got geared up for the trip in Goleta at Pat's. Pats friend drove us to the trail head. We got dropped off 2 hours drive out past Ojai. We started on the trail and it was so muddy, you could barely push your bike. So we turned around and decided to ride back. We rode for a few hours then had to camp. The next morning it was lightly raining. We broke camp and headed out up a pass. Guess what, it was snowing up there. There were snow plows going by as we rode. We froze our asses off (alteast I did). We found after the pass which had a wood stove. I convinced Pat and Carl to hitch a ride with a car traveler (carl wanted to continue riding bikes) so he road in the back of the truck bed. We called Pat's friend when we got closer to SB and he came and picked us up. The next day, Carl and I headed down to Long Beach and visited our friend Jeff. It was warmer.
