Dragonfly gallery

Dragonflies have been around for over 300 milliion years and are fascinating as well as beautiful, efective pest controllers, and are harmless to people. Dragonfly larvae are aquatic invertebrates. Both larvae and adults are carnivorous predators which really helps control pest species like mosquito larvae and adults. In Oregon there are approximately 90 total dragonfly and damselfly species. Notice their many colors and patterns even in my limited collection of local species photos.
