This lava gull (Leucophaeus fuliginosus) is the rarest gull on the planet. Only 400 known individuals exist. It is endemic to the Galapagos archepelago. This one decided to hitch a ride on our panga (zodiac) while we were crossing the Bolivar Channel between Isabela and Fernandina.
