My wife and I went up to Montreal for the Grand Prix in 1983. On Saturday we scored some tickets from an associate that were in a grandstand that didn't appear on the normal list of stands. It seems my associate was well connected, as we were in the private luxury stand for special friends of a certain beer company. Waitress brought food and drink to your seats. We were right in front of the pits and the start/finish line. I wish we had those seats for Sunday...
Saturday had a lower grade open wheeler race. FB? Formula Atlantic? I don't remember which. But I think there was an Andretti on the podium. There was also some sports car and sedan racing to fill out the day.
Sunday we had seats down near the SW end of the course, about where the pits are now. There was an interesting twisty bit to watch them navigate, before the tight "180" that headed them back toward the other end of the course.
A fun day, really easy to get to, since we could take public transportation right from the hotel to the track.
