We spent a few days in Bar Harbor and on Mt. Desert island, hiking in the park. The pictures are from the hike from Otter Cliffs to Sandy Beach, and around Jordan Pond. We had an excellent lunch at the restaurant there. You must try their popovers. And we did a harbor cruise on a 4 masted schooner, but there was no wind, so the motor was on most of the time.
Then we headed down to my cousin's place in Camden for a couple days more days. With fog rolling into the harbor, I was trying some to do some artsy stuff. But there were so many boats in the harbor, it was hard to get a simple, uncrowded view.
We stopped at Owls Head for their "Wings and Wheels" show on the way home. The B-17 from the CAF was there, but several neat old warbirds were kept away by the thick fog. But there was still lots interesting to see, including Bill Milliken's airplane. This is the same Bill Milliken who was part of Calspan, raced in SCCA, (Milliken's corner on the old Watkin's Glen course), etc. The interesting thing is that my mother was a Milliken, and our family history includes related Millikens all over Maine when he was born. But we have not found a definitive link...
