A MITSUBISHI FUSO box truck overturned blocking all three lanes of Route 18 South. The driver was removed from the vehicle through the front windshield after it was popped out using a screwdriver. Within a few minutes members of the Old Bridge Volunteer Fire Department, East Brunswick Fire District #1, arrived on the scene and applied water from Engine 707. Trans-Med Ambulance transported the injured driver to a local hospital. A NISSAN ALTIMA was also involved in the accident. The driver and passenger refused medical attention. Southbound traffic on Route 18 was closed until 3:00pm after Coppa's towing up righted and removed the vehicle.
