June 4, 2012- At approximately 10:40am the Old Bridge Volunteer Fire Department responded to the Waterford at East Brunswick, 540 Cranbury Rd. for a suspected lightning strike to the building. Upon investigation a hole, apparently from a lightning strike, was discovered in the roof. There was further evidence of a blown out smoke detector on the fourth floor and an elevator control box in the attic . The scene was turned over to the District 1 Fire Prevention Bureau and Township Inspector(s).
