Most Awsome one I've seen. I'm working on a 10 ft. r ound one. Have goldfish. But really want a big one like yours too for koi. So I have really been looking at pictures and planning. Yours is the best! Teresa - Montevallo, Alabama

really nice pond, i like the border and waterfall was done awsome!, i have a preformed shell from homedepot (bone shaped 160 gallon) 3 koi pond, 30 pond minnows(keep misquito and larvea gone, along with a little bit of algea).and 2 filters one mechanical, one chemical and bio.never new keep a pond could be so expensive!

Sayer, Thanks for posting your pictures and construction info on your pond.It's a LIVE masterpiece of art and beauty. I am currently in the process of building a double pond with a connecting waterfall (similar to yours).Could you please explain how to get water to flow over rocks (at top of waterfall) not under. Thanks, Tom

This past fall our new pond has been the center of a blue heron's attention. It ate all my beautiful koi. Anybody encounter this problem? Any suggest how I can get rid of them?

What a beautiful garden! I wish I have a space like yours to create such a paradise. I built a pond a few years ago and I put in 4 kois and gold fish. I have to move to Thailand and not sure what to do with the fish. Any body have suggestion? They are so big about 20" long. They are Showa Sanke, Hikari Muji (Ogon-yellow gold), Hikari Muji (well-marked yellow), Hikari Mono(white) Lek

Sayer, I love your pond pics. I am searching online for the pond I want to put in . You are #1 in my book. It's awesome! Anything else you can share would be very much appreciated. This will be my first. I want to do it right the first time. I live in Central Oregon (zone 5 ) Thank you for sharing. Please post current pics. Sindi

Hi Linda , The ponds total approximately 6,100 gallons. The largest being 4,500, the next is 1,200, and the new little plant pond is about 400. Now I'm just waiting for spring! :)

That's a great looking pond that you have. I've always assumed that koi ponds and natural ponds with lots of vegetation were separate entities. My own pond is about ten years old now and has gradually become a shady pond due to growing trees. I've had Little Channel Catfish in it for most of those years. John

We are really enjoying your pond photos. We started a pond in Florida just this past January (http://www.pbase.com/rimcon/anatomy_of_a_pond&page=all ) and have had a smaller one in North Carolina for a few years. Nothing like what you have done. Just curious, where are you loacted? and thanks for aharing. Ed
