Grasshopper or Katydid?

This one let me get very close and waited while I took several photos.

I found something like this on my shih tzu. Only i found several in her hair when giving her a bath. Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure it is a katydid because (lol) I used to raise crickets,grasshoppers,katydids, and other insects and arachnids. Plus good picture of that cute lil katydid!:) good luck

im doing this bug for a project!
im pretty sure its a katydid.
some kind of species of it but im not sure what!

You can see small wings on its sides, a cricket would have those wings attached closer to the center, a grasshopper has body walls that are more upright, not rounded. Katydid all the way

i personally think this is a katydid because it has a little black spot in it's compound eye and it looks like it is a small pupil. it also kind of looks like it has very subtlely eaten the leaf. also it has shorter antennae.

Super shot, although my guess would be a cricket, purely based on the little green thing I took a shot of which I initially thought/dismissed as a grasshopper, but on looking through my bug book I soon realised it was no grasshopper as they normally have wings. The body shape certainly suggests cricket.

Looks closer to a kaydid to me, or even a camel cricket altho' I'm not sure they come in green. Harder to ID when they're in immature stages too.
