In our garden

Tiny little thing. I used 4x (4 times life-size) magnification and I still had to crop the photo quite a bit.

Canon EOS 350D ,Canon MP-E65mm f/2.8 1-5X Macro
1/200s f/16.0 at 65.0mm iso100 with Flash full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I just found one of these guys on me after taking a walk outside; unfortunately I didn't have my camera so I couldn't get a picture. I'm glad I was able to find this one to see what the little thing actually looks like. I can tell it's the same one because of the strange markings on the wings and the big head. Thanks for the amazing picture. Great job!

This is a true bug in the family Tingidae. They are called Lace Bugs. Great photo!

I'm still looking, and keeping all these odd ones in mind when I do. Most times I find what something is while looking for something different. So many of the tiny ones go undocumented with photos tho'. Impossible to find info on most of the leafhoppers I run across, so not sure I'll ever see this guy again.

Just had to take another look at this weird thing. I reckon a film maker would be interested in this for ideas in sci fi outfits ;-)

What a cool looking fly - its what I would imagine a miniature Jurassic thing to look like lol. You did extremely well to get the detail that you have with such a tiny bug.

My only way to begin to get these tiny things with any magnification is using a reversed lens, and then the dof is SO little it's not realy usable except in few situations. When I see shots like this, it makes me wonder how much I'm missing since most the insects I run across are too small for me to shoot. Thanks for sharing.
