Use of Olympus Live View Bulb to shoot fireworks

For years I've used a simple technique to photograph fireworks. Namely, use a very small aperture, set the time to bulb, hold down the shutter button until a burst occurs, release the button. If one tries to take two or more bursts on the same shot, the background is very often overexposed. With Olympus Live Bulb you have to push the shutter to turn off the exposure. With the LVB you see the photograph being made in real time. Each of these shots here we at about 10 sec except for the single burst shot which was about half that. All were shot at f/16. Shots 2-4 show the road between where I could shoot and where the bursts originated. Notice that the foreground road is not greatly blown out even though, as you can see, a car is coming along. The remaining shots were made with the camera tilted to avoid the road.
