The leaf colors in central Iowa are mostly yellows - sometimes brilliantly so. Any reds in the various maple varieties are often a bit muted, but the Euonymous bushes and trees turn a very bright red. We don't have the variety of the north, but they look pretty nice until the wind comes and then they just look messy on the ground - especially if you are the one who has to rake them up!
