Like the saying goes, " A picture says a thousand words"
The photographer is like a modern philosopher who opens up his/her world and thoughts through the pictures they take. It's amazing that your pictures reveal different depths... :-D
All the best Yaohui! Go, become not only a good, but a great photographer!

helianthus 23-Oct-2005 17:05
hey there,
there're so many pics which took my breath away. and its not only the final product, its the process. i saw the process, how you crouched so close to the river bed to get the magical shot, how you twisted and bent your body to capture the beauty of the forest. it just touches me, really.if there is a highest appraisal i can give to an artist, you're sure to get it. i mean how many people can actually stop and admire, and breathe in the beauty around us? you've gone an extra step, you've probably captured what i call 'eternal beauty' and for that, i'm grateful to you. being a non-photographer, i guess what i'll do is use my 'Neurox', as Dr. Tang Bor Luen would say :), and i'd be content i guess. nice knowing u :) its been inspiring.
Tan Sok Lan 19-Sep-2005 23:30

yaohui is a great photographer. and from what i know abt him, hes real humble abt his work also. hes full of inspiration, it seems that he got more good ideas for photos than he has film, haha...keep it up!
Jasleen 25-Feb-2005 12:56
I'd have to say, I'm terribly impressed with your work Yaohui! Especially having gone to school with you, and then not being in contact, and then chancing upon this! I had no idea you were into photography, or that you were so good! I love ur work - exceptional lighting, shading, picture composition and technically fabulous. But what I loved even more is what you managed to capture, the depth and emotion and how you captured feelings of solitude and social love/empathy side by side. If I become the film producer I want to, and should I need a director of photography, I hope you do the honours! Take care, and keep doing what you do!
yikang 25-Feb-2005 06:55
like how your works celebrate life. especially the flower pics. beeeeeeaautiful.

Hi Sathea! :-) I've always liked the mood & lighting in many of your images. I think you are extremely good at taking people portraits & candids! Are you still have much fun with your 4300 (I see that you are also using a 4500 & a film SLR)? I still have and use mine, although more often I use my newly acquired DSLR.
take care, Vera. :-)

I like the big sweep uncle.
Marvin 26-May-2003 15:27
The black and white pics have this sense of nostalgia, very well captured. It was almost like travellin down memory lane, with the song "Starry starry nite" as the background music. =) Other than the monochromatic prints, I think the other pics are all rather unique in their own ways. The "rules" pic is pretty cool. Kinda ironic, coz they're written so casualli, almost like graffiti. I wld suggest the captions be constructed with a twist, such as the "colourful patterns" pic be given the name "reflections"? Haha, juz a suggestion. =) Nway, most of the pics look very professional. Keep it up! =)

Lookin forward to seeing more pics. Maybe can top up the "memory" category? =P
weemei (Qionelle) 12-May-2003 17:15
Remember I told ya about making your photos into postcards and personalised calendars? I'm really impressed especially when I came to know that you learnt the photo-shooting techniques on your own. The photos are really professional.
Keep on shooting to capture those memorable moments in your life through your digicam lenses and transform those beautiful moments into eternity. =) Cheers!
Wymond 27-Apr-2003 15:53
Wah, pretty amazed that you took so much pix! Say, have you try going to Choa Chu Kang cemetry area and take a pix on those tombstones during the breaking of dawn? Of course if you can, why not try one at night too?

Anyway, it's just a suggestion. Great efforts, man!
Vege 15-Feb-2003 08:50
