A special trip to Yunnan.
To foster Trust, Understanding, Support, Perseverance & Care for one another
To become Global Friends to the host community
To enrich ourselves with the Cultural Experiences
To make a Difference
To serve out our Assigned Responsibilities as best as we can
Can I fulfil and observe these goals?
I believe we can.
25 people, 1 mission, off to Luoyi Village, Dali, Yunnan.

This will be the 3rd time I am travelling on a plane. My first trip was from Malaysia back to Singapore. Well, I threw up and I was still a child then. Second trip was an army exercise to Thailand. The journey was pretty smooth and my vertigo didn't act on me. Perhaps due to the motion sickness medicine. This time, I threw up when departing from Singapore and arriving in Kunming. Useless fellow!

First impressions after touchdown in Kunming Airport.
The weather. It was just like the air-con temperature, cool and dry. The architecture and the odd shaped buildings. Large billboards advertising hotels, cigarettes and lots of other stuff. Yes, the traffic lights. There is a timer showing the time left before the lights turn red or green. Maybe Singapore can adopt this system too, a way to kill the boredom of motorists on the road. Counting sheeps, not bad at all.

We were led to a restaurant to have our lunch right after arrival.

There were colourful umbrellas, white elephants, temples and houses showing the way of life of the Bai people.

Night. I will never forget the night when we had to board the train for our journey from Kunming to Dali. There we are, travellers carrying heavy backpacks scurrying like a mouse from one point to another, everyone seemed to be in a rush to board to the train. The train was rather cramped, 4 in a cabin and it was air-conditioned. The cabins looked rather clean and most of us fell asleep soon after...
