Streets of Chinon - door

I LOVE these really old wooden doors. We don't have those here in our neat and orderly country.
You can almost hear it tell its stories... about the many hands that held the post where it is
dented with wear... about the time someone kicked a hole in it...
about the time the owner made those beautiful hinges (of which a closeup is
here) himself... and many more.
