My Woodturnings

This Gallery contains images from my other hobby, woodturning.
I enjoy australian burls, vessels of any kind and most of all Norfolk Island Pine which really
look best when turned to about 1/8 inch wall thickness. These bowls
are then soaked for about 300-400 hours in an oil mixture, about 24hours
at a time and dried in between sessions. Eventually the resin in the oil takes
over the wood cells, fills them and hardens within. these bowls take a long time
to make but are so rewarding. Some of them, I finish "natural" some of them get
about 8-10 coats of laquer. So from start to finish I have about 6 weeks invested in each.

My word you are talented, some exquisit pieces of art here!

I hope your photography skills will one day better your artistry in woodturning. Seems like you've got all the right equipments and ideas at the moment. Study the works of other photographers like dR will definitely help you to get better.
