SDIM1848_FULL.jpg embedded JPEG, sunlight white balance, polarizer, facing north-east

this is the white/light tan mud flats of Racetrack Playa, Death Valley
extracted the embedded JPEG from the X3F RAW with extractor tool. Contrast + saturation I have set to +.2 on camera, so those settings effect this embedded JPEG, which is the equivalent to shooting the SD14 on JPEG mode (rather than RAW). Color is much better, ie more neutral less green in auto white balance. Best color from camera is with a custom white balance set on-camera. From the relatively slow shutter speed in these glaring bright light conditions, I believe I had a polarizer on the 17-35mm EX DG... but that doesn't account for color; non-polarized are as green.
