Port Campbell and the Otway Ranges

The Otway Ranges lie in central Victoria, Australia, just west of the capital city of Melbourne. They receive high rainfall, and contain prime areas of temperate rainforest. Much of the range is reserved as national park, with the rest divided between forestry and farming.

Port Campbell is a small town on the south coast of western Victoria, Australia. Its main claim to fame is the Port Campbell National Park, a strip of coastline comprising spectacular limestone cliffs, stacks, and arches, including the well-known Twelve Apostles.

Between the western end of Port Campbell National Park and the eastern end of the Otway Ranges runs the Great Ocean Road. This 240km strip of coastal highway is renowned as one of the great scenic drives of the world.
