KETTLEWELL SCARECROW FESTIVAL

Kettlewell's annual scarecrow festival features over 200 scarecrows around the village, engaging in a wide range of activities. I spent a pleasant few hours strolling around the village, seeking them out and photographing them. I have uploaded all the main images now, I will try and arrange them properly and hopefully add some captions and further information when I get the chance. Just bought a caravan in the area and been looking for somewhere to visit - looking at these pictures this looks well worth a visit the kids (and me) will love it. Cheers you brightened my (rainy) day looking at them.

Hello I have visited the Scarecrow festival for the last couple of years,it is a very pleasant day out in beautiful surroundings,it is of course where the film "Calender Girls" was partly filmed and many of the places seen in the film can be spotted. With a poulation of just over 200 and 3 pubs and a tea room their is no difficulty in finding somewhere to dine. If you go don't forget to go into the church where you will find the scarecrows thanking God for all the visitors,if you think you have seen the place before it used to be the aerial shot at the begining of "Emmerdale,but the scarecrows are just great,last yewars included "Little Britain" and each year the crows are based on a different themebut the ones here seem to be from earlier years,2 things to finish,1st if you have been I hope you enjoyed yourself as much as I did,2 if you have not been GO,there is a bus service from Skipton and if you have more time carry on to Aisgarth and visit Hawes,the home of Wensleydale cheese
