MORNING COFFEE

OK, a new year, a new start. My PaD last year dropped off and only briefly got resurrected towards the end of the year. The main reason being too many big shoots that were (and still are) awaiting processing, my feeling being that it is silly going out shooting for the sake of shooting when it means that other shots won't get processed. I am trying to reduce my backlog before I start shooting in earnest again next summer, but it is inevitable that I won't have the time to do all the shots I want to. Because of this, my PaD will be a shot taken that day where possible, but I am not always going to go out hunting for a shot just for the sake of it. Instead, on those days where I am not shooting anyway, I will post a shot which has been processed that day. I will try and make these shots something that has taken time to create in PS, rather than a 'straight' process (levels/curves/resize/sharpen). At least that way, even though the original shot may be older, the image I post WILL have been created, as that image, on the same day.

This is an example of that philosophy, the original shot having been taken last october but only processed last night (I was tired and forgot to upload it before I went to bed!). It has been cropped a little from the original, desaturated, dodged & burned, toned, softened as well as various cloning / patching steps to sort out problem areas.

All comments, good or bad, are welcome. I am always interested to know your opinion on my work. Thanks.

Graham

I think you've done an excellent job with the treatment of this photo - I like the simple, peacefulness she portrays with her morning coffee... I myself am very new to digital photography and PS and would love to be able to produce photos such as this. Nice work. Your comments would be welcome in my galleries, though I warn you the photos are very simple. Cheers and Happy 2006!
