BFA BARN OWL

Sun this morning, when I was busy, and a dull afternoon, when I had time to shoot - B****y typical ! Still hadn't got a shot when it went dark, so I hunted about for something to shoot. I decided to take a shot of this owl figure and (just to make life hard for myself) to do it outside with flash, to look like a real owl at night.

OK, the camera won't autofocus 'cause it's pitch dark. I can't focus manually, because the viewfinder is black and I can't even see if I'm pointing at the owl, never mind focus on it. Anyway, I banged a few off at different focus points and this one seemed to work OK, not pin sharp but acceptable.

The frosty ground is actually the icy roof of my car, I foresee a frost shot for tomorrow's PaD.

Comments are welcome as always. Thanks.

Hey, I like it! Something that has worked for me, when I've tried to shoot something in low light, is to shine a flashlight on it, get my focus, move the light and take the shot. I was using the tripod, though....if this shot was hand held it would be a lot harder to juggle things....and I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work on a real owl, lol.
