Well, I joined PBase over the weekend and I promised myself that I would start PaD today. This probably isn't the most auspicious start, but it's a photo and I took it today. I actually took a few of this flower, plus a couple of other subjects, this being the shot I thought best of a mediocre bunch.

Fill-in flash was used to lift it from the background. I did shots without the flash and also one showing the flower more in context with it's setting. I'll add these into another gallery ('flowers') if anyone is interested in comparing them.
